Department of Trauma-, Hand- and Reconstructive Surgery

Prof. Dr. med. I. Marzi

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

welcome to the internet page of the Department of Trauma, Hand, and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical Center of the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main.
Our department covers the entire spectrum of trauma surgery, hand and reconstructive surgery at the University Hospital.  This service involves around-the-clock emergency service, the surgical, orthopedic-trauma, and conservative treatment of fractures, sports-injuries, pediatric trauma,  spine trauma, joints and hands including microsurgery. The department offers numerous specialized outpatient services; we are involved in treatment procedures through the employers‘liability insurance association in the case of occupational injuries and commuting accidents in many instances. In addition we  provide complete treatment to our patients from the time of hospitalization to intensive care units and general wards to ambulatory aftercare. Our patient care is certified, we are a certified supra-regional university Traumacenter  of the Trauma Network Germany, and our patient care is subject to continuous improvement through innovative clinical and theoretical research projects. Also in student instruction we pursue modern training concepts, e.g. the simulation center, which is highly beneficial to all people involved. On this page, you will find detailed information on our department and our activities; you may contact us directly using the inquiry form for patients and colleagues.
